Özgecan Gençer is a soprano at the İstanbul State Opera and Ballet. After graduating from Bilkent University, she completed her master’s degree in Germany with a scholarship from the Siemens Opera Competition, and performed as a solo singer at the Karlsruhe Opera. She worked with such leading musicians and conductors as Fazıl Say, Charles Spencer, Ola Rudner and Peter Valentovic. Holding many degrees from various national

and international competitions, the soprano continues her career in Turkey and abroad. Pınar Sivritepe is a harpist and educator. She started her education at Dokuz Eylül University, continuing at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine arts and finally at the Turin Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, Sivritepe continues her career as a harpist at the İstanbul State Opera and Ballet. With a style embracing polyphonic music, she continues to actively produce new projects with various chamber music ensembles and orchestras. In addition to her career as an orchestra performer, Sivritepe teaches at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Maltepe University.

This concert, where the duo will be performing works by Spanish composers, including Manuel de Falla’s famous “Seven Spanish Folk Songs”, also features the spectacular music of such composers as Albeniz and Chapi, promising the audience a feast of passionate music with the dramatic sounds of the Zarzuela.
