Mert Fırat studied acting at the Ankara University Faculty of Language, History and Geography. Having acted in numerous film, theater and TV projects since 2005, Fırat starred in the feature films “Love in Another Language,” “Merry-Go-Round” and “Bir Varmış Bir Yokmuş,” which he co-wrote with İlksen Başarır.

Taking stage in theaters every season since his university years, Fırat is among the founders of Moda Sahnesi, Bursa Sanatmahal and DasDas, and continues to act in the plays “Bütün Çılgınlar Sever Beni” at Moda Sahnesi and “Joseph K.” and “Westend” at DasDas.

Mert Fırat also volunteers for various associations and foundations in corporate social responsibility projects. Among the founders of www.ihtiyacharitasi.org, Fırat actively participates in the design, planning and operation of the project.

Known for his volunteer work in sustainable development, Mert Fırat has been named the first goodwill ambassador of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Türkiye in 2017.
