Adapted for the silver screen by director Ömer Kavur, based on the novel by Yusuf Atılgan, the story focuses on the character Zebercet, who runs an inn he has inherited in a small provincial town in the 80s. Zebercet grows a passion for a woman who arrives on the Ankara train one day and stays at the hotel for a single night, and as his passion turns into obsession, the hotel, where he no longer accepts guests, turns more oppressive and suffocating with time. Regarded among the best films of Turkish cinema, Motherland Hotel awaits its audience in a digitally restored copy.
