A failed businessman in his thirties, Aris settles in the house of his grandfather whom he has lost years ago to put his life together. This interesting man, a Second World War veteran, is long gone, but has left many traces behind. Left hanging in the emotional void of the wildly competitive business world, Aris holds on to his roots as he learns more and more about his grandfather’s life. As his affinity with his childhood friends and his grandfather’s acquaintances grows, he gradually begins to assume his grandfather’s identity.
Defunct is an interesting comedy-drama about the choices we all experience in our lives and the modern worl from Zacharias Mavroeidis, who created a richly nuanced comedy with his debut film The Guide (2011)
