Bilal Karaman started playing guitar at the age of 11. Having found the opportunity to play with leading guitarists from around the world, he performed many times in Türkiye and abroad with renowned musicians, taking stage in more than 20 countries. In 2009, he won the First Prize at the Nardis Jazz Guitar Competition. His first solo album “Bahane” was published in 2011. He played an acclaimed concert with world renowned bass guitarist Marcus Miller at the 19th İstanbul Jazz Festival, and established the world’s first online guitar academy. Karaman played the first concert for his second album “Patika” at Salon.

Karaman’s jazz interpretations of familiar folk songs born in the lands of Türkiye received widespread acclaim. Having played at the Barbican Centre as part of the London Jazz Festival last year, Karaman continues to work with his Gypsy Swing band, with whom he performs jazz in the Django Reinhardt tradition.
