Passed by Censor tells the story of a young man who is obsessed by a woman he has seen in a photograph. Zakir works in the letter reading commission in a prison. Spending his life among inmates, he is tasked with reading the letters that are sent to them, checking each letter that arrives. The letters can only reach their recipients if their contents are in line with the prison’s protocol. One day, while checking the letters, Zakir notices a photograph attached to a letter, of a young and beautiful woman named Selma. Charmed by the photograph, the young man decides to steal it. But a while later, Zakir’s act goes beyond a simple theft, and he develops an obsession for Selma.
