Established by violist Öykü Koçoğlu in 2011, Lepidus Ensemble performed its first concert in Ankara. In 2012, it won the First Prize in the Chamber Music Competition organized by Yaşar University in İzmir, whose jury members included such renowned names as Prof. Lukas David, Dr. Kürşad Terci, Christos Grimpas, Yorgos Kanalidis, Vittorio Bresciani, Nicos Zafranas and Francesco Diodovich, and was granted the opportunity to play concerts in Liverpool and Como. Ensemble has performed are the Borusan Music House, Cemal Reşid Rey Concert Hall, Notre Dame de Sion Concert Hall, Akbank Jazz Festival, İş Sanat, Tekfur Palace, Ankara University Hall, Adana Çukurova University Hall, İzmir A. Adnan Saygun Cultural Center, Türkan Saylan Cultural Center and Sabancı University Hall. Outside Türkiye, Lepidus Ensemble has performed at Como, Yeosu and Seoul, and has been invited for a concert with pianist Gülsin Onay in Vranje, Serbia. In 2017, the ensemble performed Jeremy Woodruff’s contemporary work for the album “From Istanbul” released on the Lila Müzik label.
