VALENTINE’S DAY CONCERT – TANGONEVA

  • FEBRUARY 14 WEDNESDAY
  • 19:30
  • SGKM Auditorium
Tango is a genre of dance which started in Argentina and Uruguay in the second half of the 19th century and spread to the whole world, similarly to jazz music. It has enjoyed a revival of interest during the 2000s, and you can find a tango school or group in every major city around the world.

TangoNEVA consists of members of the İstanbul State Symphony Orchestra, the İstanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Borusan İstanbul Philharmonic Orchestra.

TangoNEVA’s repertoire ranges from classical tango and such composers of classical music who have written tango-inspired works as Shostakovich, Albéniz and Schnittke, to Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Nuevo and Spanish and Turkish tango pieces.
