Flapper Swing

You are invited to a high-energy concert and dance with the İstanbul-based Gypsy Swing band Flapper Swing, who bring the atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, known as the golden age of jazz, to the present day!

Flapper Swing is an acoustic Gypsy Swing group inspired by French jazz artists Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, as well as the New Orleans musician Sidney Bechet. They have become a favorite ensemble at jazz festivals and events, known for their characteristic attire of the era and manouche-style guitars. The group consists of Tomas Hetmanek on rhythm guitar, Erhan Erbelger on solo guitar, Volkan Topakoğlu on double bass, and Tamer Temel on soprano saxophone and clarinet. Nevin Hetmanek provides vocals for the ensemble. Performing as a quintet, the group’s repertoire includes not only Gypsy Swing but also jazz standards, offering their audience the unique party atmosphere of that era.
