  • FEBRUARY 22 WEDNESDAY
  • 19:30

In history, Anatolia is like a “Peşkun”, a floor table, around which many different cultures gather. Anatolian Music is a Peşkun that is home to multiculturalism, where the ancient cultures of Anatolia come together… Renowned bağlama virtuoso Erdal Akkaya presents a special repertoire consisting of the cornerstones of Anatolian musical culture on the SGKM stage. We head out on a journey to the deep roots of Anatolian culture with folk songs. With “Çay Zeybeği” from Silifke, we will feel the cool breeze of the Toros Mountains, and with “Ağır Halay”, we will witness the musical tradition of Harput through the centuries, as the bağlama, gırnata (clarinet) and percussion instruments will gather around the Peşkun.Erdal Akkaya will be accompanied by Nuri Yılmaz on Gırnata, and Burak Çakır on Anatolian percussion instruments.
