Elif Çağlar studied jazz composition at the İstanbul Bilgi University Department of Music. She published the album “1-10” with her band Bağdat Avenue, which won the First Prize at the Roxy Music Days. She was the first Turkish student to graduate with honors from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, New York, where she went to study for a graduate degree under the living legend Sheila Jordan. She played concerts at various clubs in New York, including 55 Bar, Nublu and The Knitting Factory. Her widely acclaimed album “M-U-S-I-C”, published by NU-DC Records, was the first album to be written and arranged by a woman jazz vocalist in Türkiye. Çağlar’s latest album “Misfit”, featuring Aaron Parks, Harish Raghavan and Eric Harland, was published in May 2015
