A conversation with Nihal Yalçın, who continues her independent work in theater, film and TV, on comedy acting.

After graduating from the İstanbul University State Conservatory, Nihal Yalçın completed her Master’s degree at the Bahçeşehir University Department of Advanced Acting. After the improvised show “Kurusıkı”, she briefly quit theater and acted in the films “Hacivat Karagöz Neden Öldürüldü?” (2005) and “Ay Lav Yu” (2009). She played the role of Meryem in the final season of the TV series “Avrupa Yakası”, and the character Açılay in “Yalan Dünya”, and went on to take part in many other films and TV series. She won the Best Actress of the Year Award at the 20th Afife Theater Awards for her performance in the solo play “Antabus” in 2016, and the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 19th Adana Golden Boll Film Festival for her performances in the films “Yeraltı” and “Araf”.
