Yusuf is a young boy living in a slum of Adana with his older brother and sister, who passionately feeds and trains the pigeons his late father has left behind on their rooftop. Yusuf has a special bond with a female pigeon he has named Maverdi. His older brother pressures Yusuf to work and make money. Knowing of no other world than that of his birds, Yusuf has to face the realities of his neighborhood and working life.
