Şirin Soysal was born in 1980 in Vienna. She studied drama and theatre at Trinity College, Dublin. Her third album “Mutlu Melankolik” (“Happy Melancholic”) in which she blends her own style with Turkish musical modes, met the public ear in the winter of 2016. She has performed in New York and Munich as well as İstanbul, Ankara and Akbank International Jazz Festivals. Following her first album she began performing a Kurt Weill repertoire and became, in the words of theatre critic Robert Schild, ”The first artist in Türkiye in forty years, since Zeliha Berksoy, to perform Weill in German”. This concert at SGKM  is the premiere of her Edith Piaf project.

Şirin Soysal Sings Piaf concert has been postponed to April 7, 2016 , 7.30 pm.
