A film screening and discussion event featuring Ela Başak Atakan, Koç University faculty member specializing in screenwriting, film analysis, and creative approaches to filmmaking from Media and Visual Arts (MAVA) Department. This event is part of the MAVA 350 course, titled Designing Visual Communication Solutions for Raising Awareness on Gender-Based Violence, and it’s led by another esteemed MAVA faculty member, Çağla Turgul. The film explores the story of Khatera, a 23-year-old Afghan woman who courageously shares her experience of sexual abuse on national TV. This event aligns with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, observed in November, making it significant within this important month of awareness.
