Beginning piano at the age of 3.5, Mehveş Emeç graduated with a master’s degree after eight years of intensive training at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, known as one of the world’s most famous music centers, where she completed a double major. After winning the Bösendorfer Prize in Austria and the Ravel Prize in France, she continued her music studies in London for ten years with Maria Curcio, a renowned pianist and teacher. She has performed concerts with major orchestras both in Turkey and abroad and has shared the stage with world-famous conductors.

Her “Schumann” album, recorded at Wigmore Hall in London, received great acclaim. The “Popular Classics” album was reissued in three editions due to the interest it received. She also recorded Çetin Işıközlü’s “Turkish Army Symphony” with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra as a soloist.

Honored with the title of “State Artist” in 1998, Emeç has been continuing her academic work at Marmara University, where she received her professorship title in 2014, since the early 2000s.

Mehveş Emeç will meet with Koç University students on November 11 to commemorate Atatürk with her extensive repertoire and elegant performance
